Frequently Asked Questions

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured outpatient level of care that provides clinical support while you live at home and maintain work, school, or family responsibilities. At Coastwise Health, IOP includes 3 hours of daily programming, 3 to 5 days per week, combining individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and psychiatric care.

Length of stay is individualized based on clinical progress, but most clients complete IOP in 8 to 12 weeks. Sessions run 3 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week. After IOP, most clients step down to our Aftercare program for ongoing support.

IOP is 3 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week, and is often the step-down from PHP. Many Coastwise clients progress through PHP → IOP → Aftercare.
